About Us

With two generations of experience in the commercial sheep sector, Mannkind Texels was founded in 2006 with the acquisition of shearling ewes, adult ewes and rams from four quality southwest flocks.

Our decision to start a pedigree texel flock was founded upon our success with texel rams in our commercial flock.  

Our commercial flock has always produced prime lamb of the highest quality. We believe that this consistency is largely due to the quality of the genetics of the texel rams used. Of course, the quality of our natural resource - our land - helps too.

As commercial breeders too, we know what the commercial producer wants from his pedigree stock. We believe that this knowledge positions us well in producing the texels that he needs.
